Snuggie

Well, I am always cold, ALWAYS... I would love to have a Snuggie, but I haven't found a real snuggie yet, and I would rather wait until Snuggie came out with plus size one in Canada, I really do think they are a fantastic idea, I mean, the commercials are quite lame, but so true, I always have a full blanket on me, and sometimes when the phone rings I am scrambling to get to it because I am all caught in my blanket, or when I am reading, how often do my arms get cold because they are outside of the blanket?? ALL THE TIME! lol... Currently I do not knit, but I am sure it would be handy for when I start... anyways... One of my wishes, one day, next to world peace and to end world hunger is to have a plus size snuggie of my very own!!! hahaha

Soooo Christmas at Blake's parents house, Homey was opening up his gifts, because of course he is spoiled!! WHAT DOES HE GET??? A DOG SNUGGIE... for real life.. Can you believe it?? I was thrilled, what an amazing idea.. A snuggie for Homer!! He loves it!! when I looked at the package, I couldn't figure out if it was a joke or not, on the back side it shows a dog playing chess, I mean, Homey-o is a gifted pooch, but chess??? not quite there yet...a dog with the tv remote, which is funny, because the Home Slice is always turning the channel, or the volume, It was liget, Soo my little man, has his very own doggy snuggie. I will post pictures soon! it's A.D.O.R.I.B.L.E.! and probably, the highlight of my Christmas!!

Even though, I did get very spoiled myself, with a purple laptop, purple camera, tassimo machine and twilight scene it!

Run... Run... Run down...

The morning air is crisper, the days are shorter... work is going good... all my shopping is done, wrapping is getting there... Why do I feel so run down? Seriously? I don't know why? but these past 2 weeks have been a blur, and I have been so tired lately, but I can't seem to sleep good, which makes me even more tired! ahhhhh!!! I can not wait to get this out of my system!! A few weeks ago, I thought I was catching a cold, normally when I get "sick" I can heal myself quite fast through the power of sleep... But I never got sick? Stress? everything in the world is related to stress right? that could be it...

Anyways, like the Mommyproject, I too, am thrilled to be entering a new year... I have so much planned for 2010 it's bound to be one of the best years of my life. (high expectations.. I know) I have came to realize something lately... Life is what you make it... And I for one, am sick of a lot of stuff, and 2010 I am living with no regrets, I am going to take care of myself. I deserve it, I work hard, and it's about time I started valuing myself the way I should. I have started getting a pedicure once a month, and it's wonderful, and I will be doing that for the rest of my life. I love Love LOve LOVe LOVE them!!!!!!

I have no idea where I was going with this... hahahaha! boy-oh-boy... Long day...

Hoarder...

I think I am very good at throwing away stuff, keeping things in my home to a minimum, I think that.... until I go to clean out a closet, which I do, a few times a year, and every single time, I am surprised how much junk I have.... and socks, and tights, and bra's and pajamas, and clothes...

I have a friend who I always give my clothes too, I mean, I buy a lot of clothes, which is odd, because I don't wear that much...So pretty much, I wear it once and give it away, the last lot I gave her had about 10 items that still had tags. I love pj's so normally I wear them, or just a pair of jeans with my Tinkerbell sweater... haha... I need to put that on one of my new years goals... DON'T BUY CLOTHES!!! I keep a few things that I just can't seem to get rid of, but I am always thinking, Oh, I will be able to fit into that soon, WHATEVER. Today I decluttered my dresser, and end table drawers, not to much success with the end tables, I mean, I can't throw a pair of ratty socks out if they are clean, CAN I? NO. So for the next 109 days, I will wear socks and toss 'em. yep... you read that right, 109 PAIRS OF SOCKS! WTF was I thinking? Apparently at some point in my life I decided that I was going to wear a lot of skirts, I think.. because I have 15 pairs of unopened tights...?

How often do you clean you closets?

Winter Wonderland

One of our last Christmas ( "Year End" ) parties, they took us on a Valentines day retreat weekend to Horse Shoe Vally and Ski and Spa. I use to love skiing, and snowboarding, I hadn't been in a while, and I did not want to fall and really look like a big ass hurt myself. But I did go tubing, that was super fun.

I hate being cold. But honestly I had a fantastic time and I think that the cold really makes my skin look good.

Thankful Thursday

Thanks
It's thursday -- why not be thankful? I heard it can increase your happiness by 25% if you write down the things you are thankful for.

I am thankful...

1) I am thankful for my mom, I love my mom. I love that I can still go home and it feels like I never left... I love that I can tell her anything and we can talk about everything! I just love her! <3 <3 <3

2) Christmas lights I really love this season because of all the pretty lights!

3) My laundry Machines I know that Blake is the primary laundry doer at our house, but when we lived in the apartment I was, and it sucked soooo bad in this weather to take all my laundry to the laundromat and now I can do laundry right in my own dining room. LOL! its something that I love every time I have to just throw it in! :)

4) Reading - I never ever thought I could read until someone told me about the twilight books and they thought that it would be something that I liked, so I gave it a try.. and I liked them sooo much I read all 4 in less then 2 weeks! and to tell you the truth I haven't stopped reading since, I love it, and it's something I will never take for granted again.

5) Shanny (Blogmother) I <3 u. I am very thankful and grateful that I was forced to go to Ancaster against my will, I made some good friends and met some interesting people but you are much more, you are one of the most amazing people I have ever met in my life, and I feel that I am a better person because of you. You are truly one of a kind, and I am very lucky to have you as my best friend. I love you, I love your kiddies, I love your husband (Well...) and I love your other friends! you are a kindred spirit that I am happy to be join with! :)

What's Cooking Wednesday: Marshmellow Peanutbutter Squares

I have to admit, I love peanut butter! ANYTHING PEANUT BUTTER! So when my mom was telling me she loved these sweet treats I was excited to see if I could make them!
And.... I did! :)

1/2 cup of peanut butter
1/2 cup of butter
1 package of butterscotch chips
3 cups of multi coloured marshmellows (mini)
pam spray
cake pan

Spray the cake pan with pam. and spread the marsh mellows. Melt the first 3 ingredients either in the microwave or on the oven, (it burns easy)
mix to with the marshmellows and put in the fridge for about an hour.
cut in to squares and enjoy!

Well, what can I say, another success!!
I may try something a wee bit more challenging for next week!

(hey blogmother, and mommyproject ... like the picture?)

Knowing me, Knowing you, December

Time once again for that monthly interview project......

(Picture is the late Clifford Plant (Sept.12.08) and Homey opening gifts!)

1. Are you an egg nog fan?

Yes, My mom buys me one carton a year, and I drink it, anymore any less, makes me feel ill, Well.. I guess not any less?

2. What is your favourite at Christmas treat?

Peanut butter balls, OMFG... I love peanut butter more then anything in the world besides Homer, Blake's grandma still makes them, and they are wonderful, My sista sista makes them, goodness... if you make peanut butter balls, you can pretty much guarantee that I will be at your house during the holiday season!

3. How is your tree decorated? A theme like red and gold? A does it have a more eclectic slant?

My Christmas tree is a bit on the fake/small/welfare side... well, I was just starting out right? So I got it on clearance a couple years ago at walmart for like 15 bucks!! Can't go wrong?!?!? I think this year we may buy a new one (on sale) with a ton of white lights!! I love white lights!! This year my tree has multi coloured LED lights, with only Red and Silver balls, and of course a few ordiments that hold a special place in my heart, A Homer Simpson one, for Homey, and a key that says New Home, from Janny and Mike and the twins, and Blakes mom got us a Santa one, but its red and silver, so I allow it! However, my star is ass, I have been looking for a tree topper for 3 years, and I can not find one that I like. I am sure the perfect one will be there one day! I have no garland because it's not good for animals, so I have silver beads and red snow flakes wrapped around, it's a very nice tree overall ( Please note: Blake decorated it because I can't stand touching them, but I sat there the whole time and told him where everything went ;) )

4. What's your favourite Christmas movie?

I like A Christmas story ( I think that's what its called) with the red Ryder BB gun and the leg lamp!!
I also like the one with Giddien... I think!
OMG and of course Elf.

5. New jammies on Christmas Eve?

No, I never even heard of this before? Blake's family use to do this every year, I was allowed to open one gift on xmas eve once in my life and it was hot loops and omg, you would have thought I had gotten a million dollars! hahahahaha! However since everyone else gets new jammers on the 24th, I think it is something that I must do, since my sista sista and me and the boys all sleep at my momma and dads house.. I think it will be cute, however they may think I am retarded. I will let you know! :)

So now the rules, they're pretty simple. Post your answers to these questions on your own blog in the next few days. Remember to link back here in your post and sign the Mr. Linky too, so we can all see what you have to say. Please make sure you link to your actual KMKY post and not your blog's front page. Any front page links will be deleted. And most importantly, have fun! Have suggestions for next months questions? Leave me a comment or send me an email and let me know.

Christmas 2009 18 days!

Crazy! 18 days until Christmas! I wish I had something exciting to do like 25 days of Christmas, but I think Blake is a little to old to believe in elves. :( However, I do enjoy reading what you ladies are doing with your girls, I can't wait to have a family of my own to be able to do the same things!I kinda feel like a creeper sometimes, I look at your pictures tons! LOL.. The girls are soooo cute, I hope when my time comes I have girls... I just like them, everything about them! There voices, there hair, there giggles, barbies, the fact they can be princesses!
I plan on starting my Christmas shopping tomorrow! I have my list, so once I have an idea of what I want to get for people the shopping goes pretty fast!

I am working this Christmas, which sucks, yes.. but it's a great opportunity to build sales and some customers do not have anything else, and depend on us! :) It's only a small shift, I told all my managers and supervisors that I would take the 18 hours we need to be there and divide it by how many of us are willing to work!! So it worked out well this year, I get the 7pm-11pm shift, which worked out perfect since my sista sista works nights, so she will have to leave by 6:30pm anyways!!!!

My plans for Christmas never really changes...
We do our big Plant Family Christmas at my Aunt Cindy's on Christmas eve, which consists of a nice turkey dinner, some chatty, some drinkies, little present exchange, Last year we all donated what we would spend on a gift to a charity. It was such a great idea, I am hoping we do it this year too, because we have a large family so I am sure that our little bit helped just a bit! This year I am hoping that they use my sisters idea for a donation, Back in July she was a nurse for a little girl for a "Make a wish" a little over a month ago the little girl lost her battle with cancer and now her mom and aunt are making there way back to Disney to participate in a marathon to raise money for what took there little girl too soon,
If you or someone you know would like to donate you can here at this website:

I really hope they reach there goal!

After we come home from Aunt Cindy's Blake and I exchange our gifts to each other and let Homer open his, then we go to my moms for the night, and in the morning we make a nice breakfast, and open gifts and just relax! then we go to Blake's parents for Christmas Supper!
My mom always does her Turkey dinner on January 1st! :) I love it!

What are you guys doing?!?!?!

Goals

Every week I try to set goals for myself, I work very well of lists... So for me, this is kinda like a life check list, I mean its no bucket list, more like a working one, things I want to get done!
last week I had 10:
  • Gym 5 times. I almost made this goal! I went 4 times, which isn't bad for my first week back.
  • No fast food. I did it!! Every Friday we either do Pizza, Chinese or Swiss Chalet, but I don't count that really as fast food, I was thinking more like McDonald's, Wendy's, etc.
  • Make our lunches, which directly effects if we have fast food... LOL - I only forgot once, because I fell asleep at like 7pm. haha
  • Try not to eat after 8pm. FAIL. - what can I say? We're late eaters, which I know needs to change, So it's a work in progress
  • Start a blog, CHECK!
  • Clean our downstairs bedroom. I got a wicked sweet bed for this bedroom but still have a ton of stuff in there, so it really needs an overhaul, however - that bedroom is currently under the sea level. hahahahaahahaha,
  • Read 1 Chapter a night from my book Mercy by Jody Picoult - FAIL, I read the opening chapter, and then I got over taken by reviews... I didn't want to procrastinate this year, and I got all mine done! :) Like a month early! woot woot!!!
  • Eat breakfast everyday - CHECK!

Well, a lot of hit and miss, but I think I am pretty happy with my results, of course there is always room for improvement, so that's why I do them every week!! So this week, I think I might stick to some that are the same and some different! Here are my goals for this week,
December 14-20th

  • Gym, try for 5 times.
  • No Fast Food (really, it's a life style change I want to make, for a healthier me, for a longer life, I mean.. I want to be able to go to Abby, Maddie, Jamie-James, Maya and Colie's graduations right?!?!?!?!?)
  • Go through all staff files and find the missing pages, and correct. (ugh, big job :( )
  • Don't eat after 8pm!
  • Start and Finish Christmas shopping
  • Make 6 dozen cookies! :D
  • Find a crazy Xmas outfit
  • Blog everyday
  • Get a pedicure
  • Watch all Harry Potter Movies, from start to finish. (maybe while doing all files)

Well, that's it! Simple, but it keeps me busy, since all my shows are re runs, other then Glee, Bones, and 90210.

Do you have any goals this week?!

WAD: what's after dinner?

Well, I hate to admit it, but I enjoy dessert :-D
Even if it's something simple like yogurt, berries and granola. Pudding, I am easy peasy. I am not very good when it comes to cooking, or baking... So I take the simple approach when it comes to supper, and try to spice it up from there, I have been know to whip up a killer meatloaf, but lets face it, even the sound of "meatloaf" is not appetizing. However, my better half, Blake... You give him a reciepe, it will turn out like the picture... ( So annoying) hahahaha! He is also good with Dessert as well, he can make the lava cakes work, and brownies without burning the edges.
BUT BEHOLD... this simple dessert that I just learned how to make from my sista sista, Cream Cheese Cinnamon Rolls and it is sooo simple and delicious. I plan on making them for our get together next Saturday at the Mommyproject first annual cookie exchange.

here is how to make these dangerous devils.

1 package ( or 8) of pillsberry crescent rolls rolled out and smush the seems together
sprinkle cinnamon all over the dough
spead cream cheese along over cinnamon
sprinkle brown sugar over cream cheese
roll up the dough from one end, to the other
cut it once inch pieces
put on cookie sheet and cook at 375o for 10-13 minutes

in the meantime make some frosting to go on top,
icing sugar, butter and water ... just mix and taste until it tastes and looks good.

... and make a cup of your favourite tea!

end result, Sooooooooooooooo yummie. I had some chocolate whip cream left over from the other day.. hahahahahahahaa I dare you to try them.... you will not be sorry!!

I am pretty sure that these are what heaven is like. For real life.

Homer J.

I love my Home slice more then anything in the world. Hands down.

I really can't imagine my life without him.

It's very hard for me to believe that I almost did not get him! LOL - when I was looking for a small dog, I seen the add on kijiji and I wrote and ask if the Toy Fox Terriers we like Jack Russel Terriers.. left my phone number and went on with my life... 2 days later I got a phone call from an odd number and I wasn't going to answer, but I did, and it was the breeder... She told me about how smart they are, and how they will just love love love and love... and how they are so compatible with everyone.
I went against my parents, siblings and went to go visit the puppies to see if I liked them, well, I did, however, all of the pups were sold, Homie was going to be flown to NYC when he was 6 weeks old. ( which would be Oct 6 ) So I put my name on a list for her next litter and went on our way... a few days later we got the call that the NYC woman backed out due to the cost of shipping him, I jumped at the chance to have him, and we went to pick him up a couple weeks later and the rest is history!!
He is just such an amazing part of my life, and whether he's napping with me after work, playing fetch, eating supper ,turning on the heating blanket, chewing up garbage, digging out back, giving me tons of kisses ... he is still the best part of my life. In some weird way, I know he feels the same about me. ( although, our habits are different!!)

I love you Homer J.

A good day!!!

Well, the last 4 or 5 weeks have been pretty stressful for me, Miss Heather Plant Harrington!
with the new store that was not in the best of shape, trying to over come staffing issues, losing the plaques, just being disorganized . . . working a million hours!

Today.. it paid off... We finally got our inspections and we didn't just pass we did fantastic! We got over 91% on front of house and then 89.90% back of house!!

Yay!!! Hard work does pay off!

So, now I think I can maybe, put in a little less hours.. hahaha! because I know that we are heading in the right direction! :)

and speaking of inspections, Angie and my 529 ladies, did fantastic as well! So I was super thrilled for them too! :)

I went to the gym today, and did 10 minutes on the elliptical! nice.

much love today!

First time back at the gym

Well since I got my new promotion, it came with some extra benefits...besides the 16 hour days and the small dirty office... I got a gym allowance, So... last week I decided to sign up for McFit, and yesterday was my first time going! I was a little hesitant at first to go there because, the prices are very reasonable and I was thinking, trashy... but I was very wrong, it was very clean and simple, and everything starts with a Mc in there, I kinda wondered if they had to pay McDonalds some kinda fee... Anyways... here is a little about my experience at the gym for the first time in probably 2 years!!!!

I went in, and I got a free Mcfit tee shirt, 2 points! I then bought myself a bottle of water from the McFrdige for .50 cents ( I got half off because I am an orange member?) -2 points because bottles hurt the environment, and I should get me a reusable one. so -5 points for me... I then went into the McWomans locker room, which is huge, I seen the McShowers, and the McWashrooms, and I chose McLocker #83 because thats the year I was born! 5 points! I got changed and then decided to head out, I really was a little embarrassed because most people who go to a gym are like in fricken' super shape and looked ripped, me however, neither. Anyways, I used to love the elliptical, At the best shape of my life I could do 1.5 hours on it, CRAZY EH? I went on it, OMG. I did 1 minute and I was thinking, EFF MY LIFE... I couldn't do it, How did it get so hard!! I was trying everything in my power to stay on that machine for at least 5 minutes, I was watching a movie on my Purple people eater (my iPhone) and I was looking all around, by that point all the Mc's were really pissing me off, seriously? McTanning, McCardio, McMatts... EFF OFF, ALREADY I GET THE POINT... At this point in my workout I was at 2.5 minutes, and I new I only had 2.5 minutes left, Not bad, I could feel the burn and I was pretty sure that my heart was going to give out at any second... I lasted the rest of my pitiful 5 minutes and then I thought I was try something easy peasy.. Treadmill... So I went on it, I put the "STOP" clip on and started the incline at 1 and the speed at 1.5 for 1/2 an hour... 1.5 was pretty slow, so I ended up getting it up to a whopping 2.1, however... I did feel like a 100% douche bag, because the cougar beside me, had it on an incline of 10 (the highest, the front of her machine was at my waste...) and I am not sure what her speed was at but I know she was sprinting... WITH NO STOP clip on! hahahahahaha

I made it through my 30 minutes, and went back into the McWomens locker room and McBooked it outta there! I will go back today, because I really feel I just need to get used to it again, but I did feel a little uneasy. hahaha!

Cheers to day 2.
